Remember, you can safely connect a 15-ampere cord to a 20-amp receptacle, but you can't use a 20-amp cord on anything other than the right device. Always match the right type of cord to your specific use before buying. NEMA 6-20 plug will not physically fit in a NEMA 6-15R socket.
